                           Punkbuster  Losing key packets/updating

 Punkbuster is supposed to autoupdate, but sometimes your firewall can prevent this, I've recently
 been kicked for "Losing Key Packets ", to manually update your Punkbuster follow this link:
 http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
 Read & follow the instructions,
 I have left a shortcut on my desktop to a folder called PBsetup, which contains the downloaded applications.
 When I want to check/update punkbuster, I open this up and run pbsetup.exe.

There is also this little utility which tests your Punkbuster services and can uninstall
and then reinstall Punkbuster whilst checking for any errors.................

           PUNKBUSTER, Your Game In Their Hands....

Game Tweaks/Frames per Second.......

Is your game a bit JITTERY?, is it running SLOW?, Changed your game settings under COD2's Graphics Menu, and you want to know how many FRAMES PER SECOND (FPS) you are getting??????????
Its easy, just bring down the game console (the "¬" button) and type in:   /cg_drawFPS 1  ,then press ENTER
this displays the frames per second (FPS) counter at the top right of the screen,
To turn it off again, type in:
   /cg_drawFPS 0

If you are running the game in DirectX7, you will notice the fps is capped at 91fps, (not sure of the DX9 cap??)
To increase this value, simply type in:
/com_maxfps 200

or however many fps you desire, the values are between 1 & 1000
This command determines the maximum frames per second (fps) possible.
If set to 0, it disables the FPS cap.
Any value higher than 0 caps your FPS to that level.

The main reason to use this command would be to smooth framerate fluctuation, as framerate spikes can cause jerky gameplay.

                                                  Make Your Name a Colour Name.....

Want to know how to change your name, in game............?????
Bring down the console
 (the "¬" button) and type in:   /name "whatever your name is"

eg:   /name TheMookster    will show up as    TheMookster   ingame.......

How do I change the colour? I have been asked,
Well you need to bring down the console and type:

/name ^6TheMookster   this will show up as     TheMookster,

You do not have to use "6", this corresponds to the colour violet, the numbers 0-7 each have a colour assigned to them:

^0 = Black
^1 = Red
^2 = Green
^3 = Yellow
^4 = Dark Blue
^5 = Light Blue
^6 = Violet
^7 = White

so typing: /name ^2TheMookster  would show as  TheMookster  and so on............................
Note:   when you enter the ^ prefix with a number, they disappear, don't worry this is just so they don't show up, in game.

See What The Game Developers See in Game Developer Mode

Want to see how your game maps are made?, then copy these instructions, and paste them to a new text file, or notepad, on your desktop, so that you can print them out, or just write the following down:
1.  Start your Call of Duty 2 multiplayer,     In the multiplayer menu,
 select "Start New Server".  From the list given, turn "Pure" to "No".

Next bring down the console with the "¬" key and type:  /developer 1
then press enter

Now type in
/devmap mp_toujane
then press enter
This will now load the map in developer mode, while in
developer mode you can use these:

/r_showtris 1  to see the individual lines that make up your map
/r_showtris 0  to turn off again

/g_gravity 80
experiment with this, lower or increase the value,            then jump up in the air!

if you want to take some screenshots with an unobstructed view,
type in: /cg_draw2d 0  then press enter,
this gets rid of the compass and numerical graphics

now type in:
/cg_drawgun 0
and press enter, this makes your gun disappear!!

Try going to spectate mode, whilst using  /showtris  and having a "fly" around,  Have fun, you don't have to try them all at once,
and don't worry, once you quit the game all these settings revert back to default.

Here as some mapname codes to type in after the /devmap command:

mp_toujane              =Toujane, Tunisia
mp_trainstation         =Caen, France
mp_railyard              =Stalingrad, Russia
mp_matmata            =Matmata, Tunisia
mp_leningrad            =Leningrad, Russia
mp_farmhouse          =Beltot, France
mp_downtown           =Moscow, Russia
mp_decoy                 =Alamein, Eygpt
mp_dawnville            =St. Mere Eglise, France
mp_carentan             =Carentan, France
mp_burgundy            =Burgundy, France
mp_brecourt              =Brecourt, France
mp_breakout             =Villers-Bocage, France

or any other mp_mapname you may have in your "start new server" map list.

Note: these commands are only usable in game developer mode, and by default, cannot be used in Multiplayer mode. The game classes them as cheats!

Make Your Game as Pure as The First Time You Loaded It

Fed up with all the different Mod's in COD2, changing your game, all rifles, no fog, new loadscreen picture, etc

well here is a little utility that will clean out your game and return it to its original condition, without deleting a thing, its easy to use and small to download,
Pure-COD2 is a utility that moves all third party .iwd files from the Call of Duty 2 main folder, and into a new folder called moved mods,
Any new maps you have previously downloaded won't be lost, you just choose to keep them, or you can drag & drop the ones you choose to keep back into your "main" folder...........

Installation---------

1: Run the setup.exe
Thats it. Everything else is done in program.

Here is the link:   http://callofduty.filefront.com/file/PureCoD2;51576

Note:  Do not remove the folder named PB, (this is Punkbuster) !!!!!!!!!!

Bind Keys, Now You Don't Have To Type In Game.

Do you have trouble playing the game, and typing things in, at the same time?  then you need bind keys.........
For example, if you just wanted to say "hello", here's what you have to do...........

Open the console
(the "¬" key), then type:   /bind F5 say hello

Then when you press the F5 key ingame the word hello will appear on the screen,
You don't have to use the F5 key, just choose any spare key that is not used for a game command,

Always type
/bind , then the 'key you choose' then the word 'say' , then 'text you choose' , then press enter,
To change the colour of your text, use the ^ key and a number, prior to your chosen text, as in the colour name tutorial above,

For example:
  /bind F7 say ^6your sister looks good naked    would show up in game as: your sister looks good naked   (not recommended though!!
Oh, and when choosing a 'F' key as a bind, you must type the command using the 'F' key and the '7' key, not the 'F7' key,

(Above Picture is an Example of Bind Keys in action)                  Have fun........
